“OSX86 is a collaborative hacking project to run the Mac OS X computer operating system on non-Apple personal computers with x86 architecture processors.
This upload includes compressed iATKOS v7 DVD iso image and md5 rtf files.
Attention!
- This DVD is designed for Non-Apple x86 computers (PC). So, do not try to boot it on Apple Hardware!
- This DVD includes Apple’s Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.7 (9J61) installation for Intel and AMD CPUs, some basic drivers and x86 patches.
- Make sure that the md5 checksum of your iATKOS iso image matches the one in md5.rtf file. Do this MD5 check just before mounting or doing anything with the iso image! Otherwise you may have a faulty DVD image. Use quality media/burner and burn slowly.
- The oscar goes to Apple and OSX86 community..
Information:
- This OSX86 installation DVD release supports both GPT and MBR partitioned harddrives.
- Full retail main system like boot132 installation.
- You can make Clean, Upgrade(from previous versions of OS X on Intel/AMD), Refresh(renew your existing 10.5.7 installation) and driver-only installs using iATKOS v7 DVD. Upgrade/Refresh is highly successful on previous iATKOS installs and will mostly work for other installations too, read the readme for the process.
- You can update your running system using software updater just like real Macs on most PC hardware(Intel/AMD).
- Easy installation on RAID targets with manual bootloader installers and packages.
- Enhanced hardware compatibility: various systems including ATI, SiS, VIA chipset motherboards, enhanced nVidia VGA support with universal efi string and modified enablers.
Minimum hardware requirements: x86 SSE2 CPU, 512MB RAM, 10GB free space on target partition, OpenGL VGA card.
Recommended hardware requirements: Intel Core or AMD x2 CPU, 1GB RAM, 15GB free space on target partition, nVidia GeForce 6600 or better – ATI X1300 or better – Intel GMA 950 or X3100 VGA card.
Motherboard (the most important part) should be compatible for you to boot iATKOS v7 DVD and install natively. Use google to learn about your motherboard compatibility.

My name is Rahul.I am from India.Recently i learned Final Cut Pro 6.Now i was searching in the internet on how to install Mac Operating system on a normal pc.Because if only Mac can be installed FCP installs.And i found ur web site.I’ve read the above article.Will this work on my computer.Mine is dual core processor.If not how is it possible to install mac os on my pc.I cant buy mac computers as they are very expensive in india.They’ll be like 200,000 Rs.Hope u help me with my problem

hi guys i am haveing some problems instaling this, it does not reconise my hard drive in disk utilities it shows as nuthing is there, and at select a destination there is no hard drive to select please email me asap shades407@aol.com
Your drive may not be recognized becaues once you have made your partition you are going to install Mac OS X on you need to right click it (still in disk management) and mark it as active. It will now be recognized by iAtkos
how to I check the MD5 file and if they don’t match, what shall I do?

hi! i installed iatkosv7. just needed to change one of my bios setting as legacy.installation had no problem…but then when i rebooted it showed the eroor no bootable device…hepl me please.i installed all drivers too and tried every possible bios setting…reinstalling didnt help……

Preparation:
Make sure your target SATA hard drive is in the SATA Port 1.
In Windows, go to Disk Management and shrink your existing partition by at least 10 gbs. Format it as NTFS, won’t matter will reformat it later as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled).
(For dual booting with an existing Windows install later: Make sure AHCI is enabled in Windows.)
DO THIS To resolve this issue, enable the AHCI driver in the registry before you change the SATA mode of the boot drive. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Exit all Windows-based programs.
2. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
3. If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
4. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Msahci
5. In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
7. On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.
During the Windows 7 or Windows Vista installation process, any unused storage drivers are disabled. This behavior speeds up the operating system’s startup process. When you change the boot drive to a driver that has been disabled, you must enable the new driver before you change the hardware configuration.
IN THE BIOS
Disable the other cores, run on 1 Core only.
Set the SATA to AHCI Mode
Set the DVD Drive as boot Priority
Repost Video on S3 Resume = YES,
ACPI 2.0 Support = Enabled,
ACPI APIC Support = Enabled
and on APM Configuration change Restore on AC Power Loss to Last State
Chameleon/Bootloader
The iAtkos v7 release uses the Chameleon Bootloader by default.
Insert the iAtkos v7 DVD into the drive. Boot Computer.
As the iAtkos DVD boots up choose F8 to enter advanced startup options:
Choose these flags: -v –x cpus=1 busratio=20
(-v is verbose to show errors/steps in boot)(-x is safe mode boot/disables some drivers/kexts on the boot disk)(cpus=1 forces only one core to be used)(busratio=20 sets the front bus to the default multiplier)
It WILL HANG up or seem to freeze just be patient. ( I probably threw away some successful boots assuming it wasn’t going to make it past a certain point).
You will come to a gray screen with the Mac OS rainbow “pinwheel”. Choose next until you get to a screen with the Mac bar of “File Edit View, etc”.
Choose Utilities, Disk Utilities, choose your target partition click Erase from the tabs on the right of the window.
Make it a Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) file format. Close that window.
Select your Target Destination/Partition/Hard drive.
Click Customize.
This is where you make or break you install and Hardware be CAREFUL
I stuck to “safe options” I chose:
THESE for sure: WIRED NETWORK LAN: Marvell 88E8056
CardBus Driver: (for USB functionality)
I *did get it working with these 3 options:
For working Video drivers:
Choose: DVI/DVI NV ENABLER Nvidia GT200 EVGA
You should now install and get “Install Successful” and a green check box.
On first reboot, at Chameleon bootloader:
Hit F8 for advanced options use these flags:
-f –v cpus=1 busratio=20
the –f flag fixes permissions on files
At this Point please watch the boot and if it hangs have a pen and paper ready to record the problems so you can google and fix them.
IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO BOOT, BE PATIENT
If it boots successfully (and it will take 10 mins or so before we fix something later)you’ll see the Video and Music then set up your User Account.
Go ahead and shut down and reboot again.
Press F8 for advanced options and again do these flags:
-f –v
this is to fix any other file permissions and to see if there are any post install boot errors. Verify it WILL boot however slow it may be.
Now to FIX THE DSDT to allow all Cores and stop the Slow boot/Shutdown
E. [patch your DSDT]
This will enable you to have 4 cores +HT, it will stop those annoying pauses at bootup, and it will give you a DSDT ready for the 10.5.6 upgrade. How nice!
1. Download the patcher you find here, unzip it, for example, on your desktop, and double click on the DSDT Patcher file. When asked, enter 0 (zero) to emulate Darwin OS.
2. Open the terminal and type:
cd Desktop/DSDT_Patcher1 change directory to wherever you unzipped the patcher
nano Debug/dsdt.dsl open and modify the patched dsdt
delete the lines that start with Alias, change this:

Press Ctrl+O (that’s the letter “o”) and [ENTER] to save the file, then press Ctrl+X to close nano.
./DSDT\ Patcher Debug/dsdt.dsl run the patcher again (you will get 3 errors about files not existing or already existing, that’s fine, don’t worry about it)
cp dsdt.aml /DSDT.aml copy the DSDT to the root directory(MAY HAVE TO USE A COMMAND IN TERMINAL TO ALLOW THE FILE COPY. I DID THAT AND DELETED ORIGINAL FILE IN ROOT AND CUT/COPY PASTED THE PATCHED VERSION TO THE ROOT FOLDER.
At this point repair permissions. I used the Repair Permissions tool from the OSx86 toolkit.
REBOOT, ENTER BIOS
Enable ALL Cores, Save and Exit.
As Chameleon is loading once again enter F8 to get Advanced Options:
-f –v
to see the verbose (command line OS loading) and to fix file permissions
You SHOULD have a MUCH faster Boot time and all cores should show up now.
If you wish to now dual boot with a pre-existing Windows install:
Reboot with the windows install disk in the drive.
Use the startup repair to fix the bootup of the existing Windows installation.
You may have to try this several times. Also I had to use the command line option to set the Windows partition/drive active:
Choose the command line option, in the command prompt (from the recovery disk):
Type:
diskpart, list disk, select (your windows disk/partition) format is select disk x, then list partition, select the windows pre-existing partition, type: active
Now reboot, and try to run the repair again, you should be able to boot into windows.
At this point download a tool called EasyBCD to use to add the Mac as a Boot entry. This will give you the two options at bootup.texy
