I was very excited to get my copy of the Cerulean Studios Trillian Astra (Alpha release) today and so far I am impressed! Trillian Astra is graphic intense and so far has played very well with Microsoft’s Windows Vista Ultimate operating system. The loading time for Astra is notecibally faster using the Vista Aero theme filled with all my network connections (AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Myspace, Windows Live, and Yahoo) and windows load on the fly, without a hitch (or glitch).
 A very nice feature of Astra is that you now have one username for all your network connections and accounts. No matter what computer you’re on, when you install Astra all you need to do is login with your Astra credentials and your all set! All your contacts and groups populate and you’re ready to go, just like you were on you other computers!! Another thing I really like is how I can have all of this, exactly how I have it on all my computers, on my iPhone - BIG PLUS!! The mobile edition is something I have yet to be able to test but if it is anything like this Alpha test release I will be a happy customer.
So far I am 100% impressed and I will continue to rip into this Alpha test and let you know what I find. Get excited for Astra’s widgets BTW, looks very slick - let’s hope they add RSS feed support!!
I think it sucks that Frosty Heidi and Frank are gone for good here in Arizona and 101.5FM is now mostly music. Although I wasn’t a big fan of Adam Carolla’s morning show I did like afternoons with Frosty Heidi & Frank as well as evenings with Tom Leykis (sometimes). I am not really sure what actually happened but when it did everything went to “Free Paris” and since then it’s been hip hop and the morning show Kid & Reuben (which IMO blows). I totally thought by now one of those shows from 101.5 Free FM would have come back to Arizona but unfortunately they haven’t.
I am sure there are a lot of you out there that also liked these shows and feel the same way I do so I will provide you guys with a link at the end of this post to the 101.5 Free FM website where you can get the latest podcasts from your favorite shows. Tonight I downloaded all the shows I have missed from Frosty Heidi & Frank, about 80 of them (LOL) and I also will place their podcast RSS feeds on my sidebar for you to download anytime.
The best morning show currently is JohnJay and Rich, these guys are awesome! They always keep it fresh with tons of stories, lots of stars, and always manage to make me launch my morning soda out of my nose at least once a week - they are that funny! I would love to hear what you think about this and who knows, if enough people piss and moan maybe we can get their show back!
101.5 Free FM
Check out this neat tool to check and verify if your website is accesible in China. From what I hear RSS feeds seem to work fine but any feeds through FeedBurner seem to be blocked, can anyone verify this? I have no need to reach China surfers but I can see this being a problem for people who do.
